So what is Emotional freedom technique?
EFT, also known as Tapping, is an incredibly effective technique that blends modern psychology with ancient Chinese acupressure.
During a Tapping session, we focus on whatever is causing you stress or discomfort while gently tapping with your fingers on specific points on the body and stating key statements aloud.
As we go through the process, emotions or feelings you may not have been fully aware of can often surface, giving you the opportunity to release them and find greater balance.
These Tapping points are linked to traditional Chinese medicine acupoints along the body’s energy pathways, or meridians.
We know in menopause the decline in oestrogen can effect the amygdala - our emotional brain, which contributes to mood swings, anxiety, overwhelm and depression -making it harder to regulate our emotions effectively.
By tapping on these points, we send calming signals to the amygdala part of your brain, reducing the fight- flight response- letting it know that it’s safe to relax.
This helps lower the brain’s stress response, making it easier for you to release stress and find more balance, calm, and ease as you move forward.

The concept of meridians comes from traditional Chinese medicine.
Meridians are the energy pathways through which our vital life force flows-
like the chakras.
Some researchers now believe that these meridians might also be linked to the nervous system and could even influence brain activity.
There are twelve major meridians, each paired symmetrically with a matching pathway on the opposite side of the body.
Along with smaller meridians, they create a network of energy pathways throughout the body.
Think of meridians as a roadmap—major highways being the primary routes and smaller roads branching off, connecting various parts of the body.
These meridians run through over 2,000 acupoints across the body.
Traditional Chinese medicine uses acupressure or acupuncture to stimulate these points, helping to restore the natural flow of energy and balance the body’s systems.
In EFT Tapping, we use some of the same acupoints, but instead of needles or pressure, we gently tap on these points with our fingertips.
